LZX-10 Indoor Current Transformer | 10kV Measuring CT for Power Distribution Systems
The transformer is an important electrical device in power systems. It is similar to a power transformer and is also used to convert voltage or current in a circuit. However, while a power transformer transforms voltage and current mainly to transfer electrical energy, a transformer in measurement circuits is used for measuring and monitoring voltage or current. Generally, a power transformer has a large capacity and can handle significant changes in voltage or current, whereas a measurement transformer has a smaller capacity and is designed for smaller changes in voltage or current. In a measuring circuit, the transformer that converts current and supplies electricity to a current meter and relay is called a current transformer (CT), while the transformer that converts voltage and supplies electricity to a voltage meter and relay is called a voltage transformer (VT).
